Two more weeks for the $25 ING accouint opening bonus.

Unless it is extended again, the $25 bonus for opening your ING online account expires on the 31st of August. I've still got 11 referrals that I can make, so if any of you still haven't taken advantage of this offer, you should at least check it out, and even if you end up not liking it, you can take the $25 and close the account. (That was my original plan until I discovered that it really is a good bank that pays the highest rates around. Now I use it as my main savings account)

I know others have posted about this offer in the past, so most interested FTers have probably already signed up. But anyone new, or anyone that just never got around to it, email me your name and I'll send you the link...

use this email: [email protected]

* I don't want to forget to disclose that I also get $10 for each referral

* This month's Money Magazine lists the ING savings account as the highest paying in the country

ING worked great for me. Thanks FT for the free $25 and I'd be glad to refer also.

It worked great for me as well. I'm happy to refer too.

I too love the bank, so don't hesitate if you are looking for a place to park some money. They have extended the offer every month for the last year, but that itn's a reason not to sign up now.

Im also happy to send you a referral.

ING is a really useful bank; they have sensible accounts which you can transfer money into managed funds in minute amts here in oz..good for young workers just starting out investing, and they pay that good rate of interest with the standard account

Seems that the referral web page has been down all weekend, so as soon as it is up, I'll get referral emails to those of you that responded to me.

If I can add my experience as a word of caution about ING.

I too was drawn by the higher interest rates on savings accounts and the online start up bonus, as well as the ability to transfer funds from my bricks-and-mortar bank. But, and it's a big but, the website here in Canada was frequently down and I was unable to access my money for sometimes days at a stretch. It was very frustrating to log on to do some banking to find it was down again. Not sure if the USA site is any better, but I closed my account soon after. When I complained about the poor accessability to customer service when I closed down my account, I got no response to my email.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had any problems yet with my account itself, but the referral page has been down for a few days now. Until I really "try out" the bank, I don't think I will use this account for any money that I might need to get to quickly, just for that which is sitting in my money market making 1.5% right now. But, like you did, the worst case scenario if I find major problems is I'll close the account and take the $25 for my trouble.
