Hallmark Gift Certs in Trouble?

There is a separate thread here about giftcertificates.com going out of business.

Pardon my ignorance and please enlighten me. Did the Hallmark gift certs we all bought like crazy have anything to do with giftcerts.com? Do we need to be in any sort of hurry to redeem the electronic certs?

Thanks for any insight!

I don't think they are the same company. Giftcertificates.com may have gotten themselves into trouble becuase they repeatedly were offering gift certs for less than the certificate amount. They were offering (at times) $10 off a $50 or $75 certificate. It didn't make sense that they could stay afloat doing that very often.

No, they are two completely separate and distinct companies.

FWIW, giftcertificates.com, giftcerts.com, and giftcert.com (that's the one owned by Hallmark and where Hallmark.com gift certificates come from) are three separate companies. AFAIK, there is no connection between them.
