Control plane on ground in case of emergency
I do not mind some inconvinience of the new security policies changes associated with air travel. However how much these changes will really protect us? A determined suicide terriost probably can use a pen as weapon or glass battles, cup or wropes. I think the most important steps to take is not just to prevent possible weapons, but to prevent the possiblity of a terriost may have the control of the plane. The killing is only the tool to achieve the goal to control the planes. If the pilot could transfer the control to the ground with a touch of the button, then for whatever the reason the hijacker want to achieve, they lost the negociation power the a plane. The plane will be landed in the nearst airport by ground control and once the hijack button is pushed it can not be terminated by the plane. There is auto piloting already and with today's technologies, this probably is not that hard to achieve.
