MyPoints Watch 325 points?
 

Ok, I am bad about checking my e-mail. Just checked and I found an offer from MyPoints on July 31 to redeem 325 points for a watch. Did anyone else get this offer ? If so, what's the catch? Do you have to join a club and cancell before a vertain time, or is there a high shipping charge?

I got that a while back too and felt that they wanted to reduce the number of roaming points by enticing us to trade off those 300+ points for a crappy and perhaps overstocked watch. It's of course to their advantage to attempt to reduce roaming points before people collect tonnes of them and exchange for real gifts/awards.

Just my guess.

I also received the offer -- and agree with Maple that it was just an attempt to get people to use up their small points account -- had recently cashed in a ton of points so have very little in my account at the moment.

Those watches are cheap looking. It's probably like those American Express "Thank you" gifts they offer you, where you get the gift free but you have to pay shipping/handling. I bought a camera for my neice that way once. It was pretty cheesy. Never again. You get what you pay for.
