50000 miles in a week
 

Alright, I'm sure this site has already made it here, but for those who havn't seen it yet, there are only 9 days left for free registration at www.thepayline.com. Check this one out. I've got over 50000 miles accrued already. I realize how sketchy that sounds, just read through the info. Mileage usage is in a 1:1 ratio, so no more 25000 miles for a flight. Use the number of miles you fly. Brilliant. I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd use my address as a reference. Thanks

It bears repeating even though it's in another thread. I'd be very concerned about a company that wants $200, and wants it in either a money order or check. In their FAQ it says they don't want credit cards because somebody could take away the money.

Any company that is so concerned, even before they launch, that everybody who pays will put them in dispute is something to be very careful about.

Sounds like a typical pyramid/Ponzi scheme!

I certainly agree, this has much potential for being a scam, or at least a company that won't last too long, but if you buy a ticket soon after they open and before they die, you can get a cross-country trip for $200, if not international, with a 3:1 conversion rate. I doubt the cash part will work, but its about the miles.

As I read the fine print under "FAQ" on The Payline's website, I notice that the 50,000 miles "accrued" by michasp in a week are most likely "possible air miles" not spendable miles. Check your account detail or daily e-mail updates to see...

Unless I'm mistaken, your 50,000 "possible air miles" represent 50,000 people that signed up in the past week. Those miles don't become actual (spendable) miles until each of the 50,000 people pay the $200 to The Payline to enroll/qualify sometime around 2/15. So, in reality, if only a few hundred people mail The Payline the $200, you may be sitting on a few hundred miles that you can actually spend. Then again, maybe everyone'll pay and you'll have all 50,000.

Seems a clear PONZI scheme to me. Anyone stupid enough to give them $200 almost deserves what they get--which will be nothing.

I agree. They try to disquise these pyramids scams, but you can't hide the truth. When your own reward or payoff is based on others joining and paying after you, you are in in a pyramid and they always crumble.
