Mypoints problem with big redemption - anyone else?
On 3 November I redeemed 35,000 Mypoints for Vactation Miles.
When they had not arrived last week (6 weeks later), I sent an email and am now told that: I have re-submitted your order to our redemption department, so your redemption should be sent out very soon. Due to a back up in our system, we ask that you allow approximately 1-2 more weeks to receive your order. If you do not receive your redemption within this time period, please contact us at [email protected]. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Does anyone else think this a bad omen? |
It seems from experiences related on this board and personal experiences that Mypoints is much better redeeming physical rewards than exchanging for other points or e-awards.
I've requested gift certificates several times, and recieved them consistently within 2 weeks. |
I've been waiting since Oct 16 to be credited 2000 points in my Hhonors account for a redemption of 2000 Mypoints. I've emailed Mypoints customer care (oxymoron?)called Mypoints, get voice mail.
It has not been a good experience for me. I wish you much better luck. |
I have never done a hotel award. Just for restraunts gift certificates. I get them in about 2-4 days.

I have had the same problem. I waited 9 weeks and sent 5 emails to mypoints with no response. Finally after my second phone call to member care my Hyatt award was sent. My wife is having the same problem and has still not received her Target gift certificates.

On Oct. 19, my family (4 people) each redeemed 20000 mypts for 25000 vacmiles.
I contacted vac miles 3 days later and they had received them. I was surprised it was so quick considering all the problem reports I've heard. All, I can say is keep on mypts. |
I have redeemed mypoints for vacation miles on 3 occations and it has never been a problem. Usually within 6 weeks.

I got a AS 1k certificate in no time flat. Ordered i end of last week at the earliest and it was mailed on the 19th and wa delivered in Canada on the 22nd.

I ordered a gift certificate and they mailed in 2 days of my order and I received it 3 days later!!

Hubby got an Applebee's gc within a week but I'm STILL waiting for my Hhonors points to be credited.

When they replied that they would process the award now, I asked if they could expedite it by faxing it over to Vacation Miles - reply:
We apologize, but it is against our company policy to expedite redemptions. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Well that says it all - they screw up the first redemption but it's against their policy to help! |
I have called MyPoints twice in the last three weeks, and any problem I had with a point redemption was taken care of immediately. My premium was received a week after my call. If you want to avoid getting a voicemail message, try calling them after 10:30 a.m. P.S.T. That is when they start taking calls. Anything before that and you won't be talking to a live voice. After 10 weeks of waiting I called Customer Services at MyPoints yesterday. They could not locate anyone from redemptions - but recredited the points so that I could redeem them again.
I've done this today but will have to wait the 4-6 weeks again for the Vacation Miles to come. Anyone else think I'm being dupped? [This message has been edited by Markie (edited 01-17-2001).] |
My Points is a really weird scheme! A while back, they deducted over 1000 points form my girlfriends account without notifying her or even showing why on her statement other than the words Reversal. They ignored her e-mails over the matter. In the end we gave up!
So when we placed an order for a gift certificicate in November we expected problems. Despite their advice of a six week wait, we got the cert within 5 days! ------------------ Mark |
I waited from August until January for a simple redemption of 7500 points for Marriott Miles. Emails got standard, stupid, automated replies that answered none of my inquiries. A phone call got me somewhere. Seems the points got "stuck" between "earned" and "redeemed" and needed to be manually put back into the account. This took a month. Phone calls are the best way. This company has some nice rewards, but has ZERO member accountability.
