3200 more greenpoints
This may not seem like a good deal at first but if you go to the book section you can buy a copy of Jurassic Park for free to .25 (there are hundreds of sellers so just scoll through till you get a cheap copy). You will be charged 1.95 for shipping and handling. If you do the math you will be able to get a 500 mile certificate or 5.00 of food gift certificates for about 2.00. Since there are three in my family, I was able to get almost 2000 miles (9600 greenpoints) for only 6.00. Don't know what I will do with three copies of Jurassic Park though.

Don't forget the $5 off coupon that pops up when you get to half.com. Here's another coupon for $3 off a $5 purchase (JACK5). If you don't find anything you personally like, perhaps buy a cheap book an donate it to your local school library. Just an idea.

Birddy - that is exactly what I do also. I have done that with a lot of promotional items, such as the online petstores, etc. I buy what is needed for the offer than donate it. I keep the miles/whatever. Looks like a win - win to me.

If you, have multiple acounts and want to use the $5 off 10 more than once I think you will find that you need to delete the half.com promotion cookie(s) off your computer.
I went into greenpoints ,then to half.com bought a used video I wanted for 10.50 and 1.95 shipping less 5 coupon for a cost of 7.45 and got the 3200 greenpoints imediately. the $5 coupon was in a pop up as you entered half.com. The code for the coupon was GREEN. I do not think you get the pop up if you have the cookie. Half.com is apparently owned by ebay which gives me a little confidence. I do all these offers for multiple member of my family and did notice the problem of going back into the half.com website after my first purchase. I logged out of my green points account and then into my sisters. I then went to half.com through my sisters greenpoints account and they wouldn't let me use the coupon. It said the coupon is for the first time user only. I got around this, without deleting the cookies, by simply
"logging out". You get the statment: "if you're not so-and-so please click here" click it and you will say you're logged off. This has seems a bit easier then dealing with the cookies. |
good point. The simple solutions always evade me.
I confess to being somewhat obsessively paranoid about cookies. thanks for the info. |
birdyy:
You are right, deleting the cookies is not such a good idea. The next time some of your websites don't 'know' you. You are lucky that it worked like you describe it. You could have used Netscape for the first time and MS Internet Explorer or vise-versa the next time and then AOL for another time. |
