Okay, getting a substantial number of points or miles from a survey program isn't generally going to get you as much as opening a credit card, but there is zero spend involved, and these kinds of programs can be useful in some situations:

1. You need some token number of points to post as 'account activity' in order to keep a balance in a program from expiring
2. You're someone who has more time than money
3. You actually enjoy sharing your thoughts about car insurance or breakfast cereal to companies and are willing to tolerate getting bounced from surveys without a full payout a fair number of times in the process
