Frequent Flyer Points for Charitable Donations

Does anyone know of deals where you can earn frequent flyer points for making charitable donations?? Seen deals in past, haven't seen any recently.

Seems like someone is or was recently giving miles for a donation to the Red Cross. It might have been United.

U.S. Bank Cash Plus

My US Bank Cash Plus card offers 5% back on charitable donations as one of the options you can pick each quarter, up to $2,000 in donations ($100 cash back). See details below -- schools, churches and political contributions are specifically excluded from USB's definition of "charity":

Donate directly to non-political fund-raising organizations and social-service organizations, and you'll not only get a tax deduction but cash back too. Qualifying charities include advocacy groups, community organizations, and health agencies.

Examples
American Red Cross, UNICEF and American Cancer Society®.

Keep In Mind
Organizations with specific political purposes and donations to schools and churches do not qualify.

EDIT: Sorry, just reread OP; s/he wants miles. Don't know of any offers there.

If you are a member of e-miles, they often have bonus offers for charitable donations. If your sponsor is an airline, you can obtain miles/points through that avenue.

Should be able to do that. I have donated to AA charities in the past for my wife's account using my credit card and earned miles in her account.

For what charity? I donated on the last day (11/30?) that United was offering miles for Red Cross contributions, and my miles have already posted.

Just call them...I give to them. I've only once had it not get credited automatically, but when it happened they fixed it right away.

Unlike a lot of places where the mileage aspects are in hidden corners, it seems to be a substantial deal for them so when I told the receptionist what I was calling about they knew who to send me to.
