Target's "big baby sale" thru July 12,2014
In case anyone else here also happens to be actually purchasing diapers and wipes , it was a good week for me to stock up at my local Target. Target's weekly sales seem to be the same nationally, so I figured I should share what I did. Here's a step-by-step:
Using both, $99.96 (4 boxes) of Diapers drops down to $79.96 with the coupon, and you get another $20 in Target gift cards.... but it got better for me because I also had:
The way I thought it worked is that I paid $77.76 for the four boxes of diapers, and received 3 packages of free wipes and $20 worth of gift cards.
However, reviewing the receipt now for this post, I noticed that the "free wipes" coupons actually worked as "free wipes, plus $2.25 off your order" coupons. Apparently, Target's software apparently is not currently distinguishing between different sizes of wipes since it credited me for the maximum value of the coupon instead of the actual price of the small packages of wipes. (Target's IT staff has been focused on bigger problems recently.)
So, I paid $71.76 for diapers that normally cost $99.96, plus I also received three free small packages of wipes and $20 of Target gift cards..... and a lot of GTG points!
- The weekly sales flyer (found in sunday papers) had a coupon printed in that was for $20 off $100 purchase of baby goods, including diapers. [Apparently, you can also have Target send the coupon to your phone, but I'm not familiar with that method because I don't give advertisers my contact information!]
- The weekly sale also includes a "Buy 2 boxes of diapers at $24.99/each, get a $10 gift card" deal.

- A coupon for $2/off 1 box or 2 bags of Pampers (also from the weekly coupon section)
- A coupon for $1/off a big box of wipes (also from the weekly coupon section)
- Several coupons for "get a free small container of wipes with your next purchase of pampers" (from inside previously purchased boxes of diapers).

I have observed this 'feature' of the Target POS system in the past on other products with coupons for free items.
