You have to enter the referral code in the mobile app after installing (click on where it asks if you have a promo code). Then to generate your own, you have to click on the little "invite friends" graphic on the "Me" page.

You need to either click on the url with the referral code or type it into your mobile browser when you sign up. There isn't a field that you type to code into. So if you want to use mine, click on the link below (preferably from your mobile device when you're ready to sign up)...

Like they said, you have to access the link via your mobile phones web browser. Just type it in. It'll then route you to the app store and bring up shopkick.
