I wonder if they'll take it at their sister-store, Randalls?

Thanks, but no love from our local Safeway. My wife was told that without a bar code on the coupon, they would not accept it.

Odd coupon

After I sent the link to my ORD based sibling, I took a closer look at the coupon. There is some sort of airmiles logo, which I find odd since Safeway either has discontinued, or is about to discontinue offering miles.

The Airmiles logo tells me that this is a Canadian Safeway coupon. Look at airmiles.ca and the logo matches.

Thumbs up success

(tho i didn't go last week but went today)

just took a little info from the cust svc person and it was done-ring up the bag and then comp it. took about 5 extra minutes and my safeway's bag is much better than in the coupon. larger (can hold 5 half gallons of milk*) and black nylon with nice strong handles. thanks again kipper ^.

*yes, i like milk

Coupon was accepted in the Hilo Safeway. It took a few minutes to determine which bag was coupon eligible, but alas, a bag was found for the free coupon. Thank you....^

I used mine today (actually yesterday) at Randall's. Customer Service said it was good because they are all one happy family. Cashier was somewhat confused.

picked up another one* yesterday-took all of 5 extra minutes with the cashier saying that she "didn't have the one in the picture so you get this one" (the nicer and bigger black bag )

*i really hate the paper bags "required" in san francisco cuz the handles last all of 3 seconds before they break so this is great. thank you kipper ^
