Ryanair?

I'll be flying Ryanair for the first time next week from Dublin to Paris. Should be an interesting experience...

Anyway, does anyone know how strictly they enforce their meager 15-kg checked baggage and 7-kg carry-on allowances? (as compared to 20kg in economy for other carriers) Is this how they make up for their low fares?

Thanks.

I'm sorry that I can't help you with the baggage weight rules. But, like you, I too was concerned about a $35 fare from Dublin to Glasgow/Pickwick. The plane was relatively new and the flight was all quite standard....no need to worry there. The only worrisome experience was that they have very few agents working the check-in counter (sometimes, none) and only allow you to check-in about 30-45 minutes before flight time. They were extremely efficient once they called my flight and all went well.

Re weight allowance: Yes the are VERY strict. if you are over by a 'significant' amount (sorry, can't define but guess 1 would be max excess allowed) you go to the excess bagg payment counter.

Otherwise just be prepared to quote - as you may know the DUB authority just issued instructions requiring check-in to open 2 hrs before and a ration of pax to check-in agents - doubt if FR following this (yet!).
