flew back from canaries to UK last Wednesday using my print at home boarding pass at baggage drop, security and boarding processes, no requirement for digital pass!

It's interesting how so many people have misunderstood what Ryanair have done. Whether that's because they're cynical of Ryanair's motives or something else I don't know, but people really don't understand the rules on this one.

You don't need the app to check in. Without the app you need to obtain a paper boarding pass at the airport. If you've checked in online then they won't charge you for this. It means you have to stand in a line to get the boarding pass, but if you're dropping off hold luggage you'd probably have to stand in the line anyway. It's going to add a bit of friction which will push people towards their app- which is presumably the point- but only a bit of friction.

I can only assume that people think the airport boarding pass reprint charge still applies, but it doesn't. That's actually a net positive to this change, IMO.

As for apps, I don't share the same antagonism towards them that others do. I like being able to restrict them on my iPhone to require Face ID to unlock them. Feels a bit more secure to me. As always, YMMV.

How much did they charge to spend a penny?

Interesting that some people are apparently SO set against this new requirement, yet still seem to be going to continue flying with them. Personal choice? How about fly with an airline that DOESN'T do this sort of thing??

I think we all know this is going to become 'the' method of checking-in / boarding passes in the near future. Your Government and its spy-on-citizens agencies like you to hold your phone in your hand everywhere you go, so they can keep an eye on you. They can keep tabs on all of your messages, Tweets, and phone calls. The Naughty Ones will be told at the gate "No."
How long until The Gate Dragons get replaced by 'AI' robots?

Anyway, as Mick O'Leary famously said: "Our planes are full of people who hate us!"

One question, is it possible to check-in, using the app, without creating an account? Most airlines seem to allow using the PRN and Family Name to pull up the reservation and check-in, without having an actual account.

I'm trying to check in for a flight next week, but I can't log in to do this. The app and website refuse to send me the email with the necessary 6-digit code (tried it many times).

Is there any way around this, as I'm going to have big problems if I can't generate a boarding pass.

I can't see anything in the Ryanair FAQs that cover this issue.
Have you tried an online Chat with Ryanair?
you don't seem to need to be logged in to start a Chat.

sometimes a reset password action can unblock computer systems in these type of scenarios ... but I would try a Chat first!

when you made the booking, did you receive the itinerary confirmation email?

if yes then this has the pnr

If not then it feels like the email address you entered was incorrect, chat may be able to correct this.

I assume you checked you spam folder

It's funny that I continue to get offers and updates from Ryanair to this email account, but it just doesn't want to send me a code to log in. When I try and log in, Ryanair accepts my email address/password and says it has sent me a code, but no such thing arrives. I have to say that it worked fine for previous bookings.

I think a chat session may be in order.
