Delay Reason of FR3386
 

Hello, not sure if anyone could help me.

​​​​​​FR3386 got cancelled on stand 01/06/24.

The inward aircraft arrived late and didn't turnaround quick enough before the airport ATC tower closed. The flight was later rescheduled to the next day at 1430. The crew informed us that we were entitled to EU compensation, Ryanair have refused blaming ATC restrictions over Europe. So if anyone is able to verify the delay that would be amazing.

If not due EU compensation I take it I'd still be entitled to a refund for the flight?

The aircraft started the delay departing Bristol for Palma 1h4m late, and then returning from Palma 1h 35m late. Then departing from Bristol to Limoges (leg before yours) 1h 45m minutes late. First rotations of the day, Bristol to Valencia and back were on time.

Ask Ryanair to reconsider as the reason for running into ATC restrictions was the delay of incoming aircraft. Had the departure back to Bristol not been delayed the flight would have departed before the scheduled closure of the ATC tower at LIG. So the ATC restrictions/closure was a result of the aircraft arriving late into LIG.

I can't imagine there's anything "extraordinary" about Ryanair scheduling a flight too close to the time when ATC closes for the night.

But whether Ryanair will pay out without going to court is another matter.

Did you actually fly the next day and receive "duty of care" from Ryanair? If so, a "refund" isn't going to happen - simply a dispute over compensation (and possibly the refund of hotel costs, etc.)

Why waste time discussing this with Ryanair? Just start a Small Claims court case. It's clearly their fault that the plane was late. Or let them know you intend to take them to court, see if they jump.

However, Ryanair are offering Helsinki to Stansted for 25 Euros - you can't really complain at prices like this.

And Ryanair have included their cost of servicing the risk of a delay and then having to pay the comp in that 25€.
