Schedule change notification

I'm bemused. I've received several DUB-BRU schedule change emails over the last few weeks.

My original flight number number FR1452 has moved to the earlier FR1456. My new arrival time is now 4hrs 15 minutes earlier. So apparently I'm entitled to either accept the schedule change or move flights +/- 1 day on the same route.

However the system tries to apply a change fee of €45 per flight plus fare difference despite the email message:

2. Change your flight for free • You can choose to change your flight to the next available flight on the same route or to a flight departing one day before or one day after your new departure time. There are no flight change fees and you do not have to pay any fare difference.

Since when does a flight number change Not constitute a flight cancellation?

Anyone got any suggestions on how I can at least get a flight credit or refund?

Suggestions appreciated

I would suggest using the website chat service.

May I ask when are you traveling? How far in advance have you received the schedule chang email?

Have tried website chat. Got immediately referred to refund link but on further questioning relating to Flight number change was effectively advised I've only 2 options:

1) accept the schedule change via link within schedule change notification email (ie new Flight number)
2) change +/- 1 day.

I've got multiple flights booked from from 21st September onwards.

Apologies i must correct myself. I was originally booked on FR1456 departure at 19:40 on 21/09. That appears to be cancelled so they've moved me to FR1452 departure at 15:45.. However I just noticed there is a FR1456 scheduled to depart at 18:55 on 22/09. I conclude the FR1456 is not operating every day hence my confusion. !!

I guess it's back to the webchat tomorrow!

As ever with Ryanair one learns something new every time!

If the flight number has changed, it's a cancellation.

Have you seen this web page

Try to get through to human interaction in the webchat; there is no doubt that you will and should be able to rebook, i.e. no change fee applicable or fare increase.

But you really need to consider your options now because in reality you have ticket valid (at least) +/- 14 days to any flight within the FR network, i.e. such a cancellation can be worth a lot. During covid I have rebooked several cheap tickets to Poland for flights to Spain where the fares had gone through the roof. So depending on how much you paid for the existing ticket, how much a ticket for the new flight would cost and if you are can make use of a "free" ticket, there are other options that just confirming or getting moved to the flight that you refer to.

Update: webchat today they allowed me to change date and time for free on same route only.
Quite happy with the result as the initial rescheduled flights offered were 4 hrs earlier and really didn't suit.

Thanks for your help.

Unless the FR policy has been changed (admittedly I haven't checked) there should be no such restriction when req. invol rebooking following a cancellation.
