ryanair web check in mistake
 

Hi

this is probably a common question people ask, but ive searched and not found a good answer to what im looking for, my boyfriend just checked us in online, we are going to rome on monday morning from edinburgh, and my boyfriend has made a mistake on the expiry date on my passport, on my part of the boarding pass.

anything i see relating to this, they say they just winged it but known my luck it wont go that way. my boyfriends phoning in the morning to their call centre to see if it can be changed. has anyone ever experience and if so at short notice can they do it and will they charge ? its a minor change and it does say on their website they cant change the name on the boarding pass nothing about expiry date of passport

It's difficult to be prescriptive about your situation. I'm assuming that you travel on a UK passport. The BP/passport check at the gate seems cursory. I get the impression that they don't/won't/can't check all of the info in the time available, given the need to board the plane a.s.a.p. I suspect they just check name and photo. Chances are that if you try, everything will be OK.

On the other hand, if the discrepancy is spotted, you'll have a problem as there won't be time to make changes (even if that's allowed, which may not be possible). Under Ryanair terms and conditions, they can deny boarding.

And if you manage to ask Ryanair, they will almost certainly charge you. You could try calling 00 353 1 248 0856 (Dublin) which will probably be cheaper than calling the 0871 number on the website. Try asking in general terms first without telling them your PNR until necessary.
