Moscow DO anyone?

Seeing that there are so many Russia regulars and residents on FT and the weather in Moscow is pretty nice - would anyone be interested in meeting up, having a drink or three, or lunch or dinner, whatever?

I hope this thread will gather some momentum here before it gets moved to Community Buzz, if ever.

Some upcoming FT visits (I'm almost always here for the moment):

greg999 - May 13-17
smooth - May 15-20
Bowgie - May 20-24
Anglo Large Clawed Otter - May 23-24
i'mlovin'it - May 27-30
rockdocs - June 6-10
lesenok - July 2-6
xyzzy - late July
headinclouds - July 27-29
KRS - August 1-7

My wife is in SPB for a week or two, and I might fly over soon--will keep you informed

Great Idea.

Count me In ! I think that could well be one of the more unique DOs.

I'm in. I've often thought of organizing something like this myself. I've even put together a list of FT users who are based in Moscow or visit often, if you want it. I wonder how many of you I know or have met at places around Moscow that we might not want to admit... ;)

Would that list be similar to the one in Russia regulars thread referenced in my post above?

I'm probably not in your list..but still i'm visiting Moscow quite often and if it happens to meet for a beer...that would be great...

if really interested, make sure you post this in communitybuzz! as well.
if there wasn't the VISA for Russia, I'd be in in a heartbeat.

Just finished 8 months in Moscow. Now in Vienna til Sept. and then Kiev/Moscow from October on. Would be up for a do.

I'm always up for a beer with a fellow Fter, regardless of it being a proper DO or not.

Oh, come on, it's not that hard to get...

Let us know when you're back to MOW then

chalf Aug 31, 2007 6:25 pm

I'm in for a Moscow DO --there several times/month.

Cloud Lounger Aug 31, 2007 6:34 pm

Been through MOW four times per year for the last three years. Looks like I'm down to two per year. Next visit in December 07 and/or March 08. Often MOW is a stopover while heading off to exotic climes such as Salekhard, Khanti Mansiisk or Yakutsk.

Call me crazy, but I prefer SVO to DME cause arriving on SU at 5:30 am from LHR gets me downtown and in my hotel room by 6:30

There are many of us who are of a similar mind. I have arrived on the SU overnight and been in bed by 6 AM.

OK, what date/dates would be most convenient for everyone?

I'm spending all of September and almost all of October in Moscow. The only days I'll be away are Oct, 12-15.

And what would most people here be more interested in aside from the usual dining and having a drink or three?

OK, the weather in Moscow is no longer nice... and still - anyone up for a little something?

Keep me in the loop! Not sure when my next visit will be, but likely to spend a good part of November in various parts of Russia.
