Where to see firewors over Red Square?

Where is a good spot to see the fireworks over the Red Square from without actually entering the Red Square?

I'm going for NYE to Moscow with my wife and a 2 year old and we would like to see the fireworks, but are not to keen on fighting the crowds. Is there any place we can see them from in a little more peaceful setting?

Actually, this year they are shooting a TV show on the Red Square during NYE. So you would not be able to go there without a special invitation anyway.

Ok, so where can I go?

Sorry but I don't know Moscow well enough to recommend a good place.
But I would like to mention that it'll be extremely cold outside, so I would suggest looking for a place inside that'll have a view.
One of the hotels or restaurants in some of the high buildings.
It doesn't really have to be that close to the Red Square if you are high up (and facing the right direction).
I saw firework (celebrating Moscows birthday) in September from my room on the 17. floor of the Hilton Leningradskaya.
There was firework in different locations so I have no idea which I saw.

smellme,
So, where did you end up for the New Years? I am sure you had fun, as fireworks were going everywhere, even if you did not see the particular Red Square ones…

I did see them! I saw them from the Patriarshiy most, recommended to me by the receptionist at my hotel. It's a great viewing point because you can see the fireworks together with Kremlin and a little of St. Basil's Cathedral. Interesting thing is, that after those main fireworks, there were about 5 more places in the area that I could see from that bridge that had big fireworks but they didn't shoot them all at the same time. It was sort of synchronized, that once one place finished, another started. You're right, it was a lot of fun.
