Buying aeroflot miles
Hello everyone -
Pretty newbie question here but I'm planning a flight from JFK to MRV using Aeroflot and have been looking for ways to reduce the cost of the ticket. I was wondering a couple things - is it possible to purchase miles from someone else and have them transferred to my account, or have that person book the ticket for me? Can I use the miles even though I never fly with Aeroflot? Would that reduce the costs of the flight? I know some people never use their miles and thought someone would be interested in this type of barter. Let me know your thoughts if it's possible and any resources if it is.
Thanks

You'll get the same answer in each forum you ask... sorry. Selling miles/points is prohibited by all FF programs (that I am familiar with) If caught tickets can and will be cancelled. Transferring miles often incurs a per mile fee which removes any cost benefit. Paying a stranger to book for you with their miles opens you up to a terribly easy rip off..... In short... NOT a good idea. If however you actually KNOW someone who has the miles, isn't going to use them and is willing to use them on your behalf... then you are in good shape.
