Sheremetyevo Transfer - Advice Appreciated

Hi,

Arriving on Finnair Flight from Helsinki due to arrive at 7.15pm (Terminal D)

Need to get to Terminal B for 9.50pm departure

As far as i am aware - I arrive at Terminal D - go through passport control - collect baggage - (Level 3)

Are baggage trolleys free from Terminal D ?

Then i can drop bags again in Terminal D ? at desks 42-43 ? (Level 1)

Then take train from Terminal D to Terminal B ?

Is that correct ? with baggage strikes at airport need to make sure i am doing right thing ?

Cheers for any reply and confirmation.

Are these flights on the same PNR? If so, you shall be able to check bags through to your final destination.
There's a pretty thorough instruction on SU site about connecting between flights in SVO: https://www.aeroflot.ru/us-en/inform...irport/transit

No, separate PNRs - so on paper will need to collect baggage - flying in on Finnair and then domestic on Aeroflot. Not sure i can convince Finnair to check bags to final destination.

Then once you have collected your bags, go through the international-domestic transit corridor at conveyor 5. They have a dedicated customs control and check-in desks there. Main benefit is that you can then clear security in D and take airside-airside car on people mover to B.
Alternative is to go landside, take a train to B and go through a regular checkin process in that terminal (queues will be looooong). They won't check-in for a flight departing from B at SVO D counters.

This is plenty of time. The danger at this hour is the a hoard of tourists from China taking up the immigration line at passport control. None of them have visas, they arrive as a part of a tour group, and in general take longer to process. I would try to get to passport control as soon as you can. Or worse, a plane from Bangkok / Phuket / Denpasar.

After passport control you'll take an escalator down and this will be the baggage clam area. Last I checked the trolleys are indeed free, ( this isn't the USA)

No, take it to terminal B. However if its an SU flight there is a recheck area at the lower level of D. Often not manned though, ask.

Then take train from Terminal D to Terminal B ?
Its a long walk and an underground train. Follow signs ( in English)

Your bags can be checked though provided its the same though ticket and going to a designated airport able to receive international passengers bags, which would be either LED or AER as far as I know. The rest you need to collect at MOW and re check.
