[Information] Aeroflot booking classes and fare types information

Aeroflot is usually the cheapest airline to fly between Europe and Asia Far East, and the fare structure is also relatively simple where I can't see any advanced purchase restrictions and seasonality built into the fare table, i.e. the availability controls most of the price we can buy.

Aeroflot revenue booking classes are divided in the following, sorted from highest to lowest:
Business - J C D I Z
Comfort - W S A (according to my observation, on connecting short haul flights without comfort, W books into business I where S and A book into economy B and M respectively)
Economy - Y B M U K H L Q T E N R, where Y to L are higher classes, Q to N are lower classes with minimum stay requirement and R is promo class

However, the booking class is not related to refundability - even Y fares can be non-refundable, it is the fare group which matters. Each booking class, except the promo-only R class, is divided into fare groups: flex (changeable and refundable without penalty), classic (refundable with penalty) and saver (non-refundable, on economy only). It is the combination of booking class and fare group which ultimately decide how much you pays, with the booking class the major factor, i.e. a Y class non-refundable ticket is much more than an H class fully refundable ticket, and an H class non-refundable ticket is much more expensive than an N class refundable ticket.

For miles accrual, if you are accumulating on Aeroflot bonus, the percentage depends on both your booking class and fare group, with 75% minimum except promo which is very generous. However, if you are accumulating on a partner, only the booking class matters which may be as low as 25% even for a fully refundable ticket, and you may have to call in order to manually force a more expensive desired booking class .

For Classic, Saver and Promo fares, the €25/HKD250 change fee is applicable to all changes, as well as refunds done at Aeroflot offices.
