Things to do in DME

Does anyone have any advice on how to spend an 8 hour connection in DME? Are there any quiet areas of the airport, or are there any hotels based within the terminal?

I haven't booked a flight yet but this it the best case scenario when flying back from KJA to LHR via DME with S7/BA.

There are no hotels within the terminal, but there is one, just a few minutes away(free transfer provided),I have not tried it yet,so cant really comment on it,this link might help:

Also if you are flying in J/F or are a Oneworld Sapphire/Emerland member, you can use S7 lounge 24 hours before departure,and/or BA lounge 3,5 hours before departure,if you are not elighble for lounge access, you can purchase a voucher for 3000Rub (=£60)

Is your KJA-DME-LHR on one ticket,if so ask check in agents at KJA to check you,and your luggage in all the way to KJA.

I personally would not spend 8 hours in transit hell at DME. A bunch of gates , lounges and overpriced duty free stores

There used to be a "Kino Zal" where you could rent a little room and watch movies. Saw one in OVB the other day as well. Seem to be rather popular in Russian airports. Have not been to DME in years though so not sure it's still there.

I'd think a certain American who spent a couple of weeks in transit may be able to comment ....

That was Sheremetyevo airport.

DME is not a fun airport to hang out in for 8 hours, I'd consider hotel or even taking the train into Moscow.

Before customs there is Paprika which has not bad Indian/Eastern food. I do think the S7 lounge is also accessable for Priority Pass if you have one and are not travelling business/elite/etc. There is also a spa which I have never been to. Thai-Spa salon “7 Krasok in Domodedovo Airport.

Of course you can always drink.

This hotel is an absolute disaster. Lounge is the way to go. If first time in Moscow and you are not too tired you can take the express train to the outskirts of the city center ( Paveltzkaya train station) , a metro from there to the center and spend 3-4 hours seeing the Kremlin and its surroundings.

Seating in Domodedovo is limited and uncomfortable. If you have a Diners Club card there is fre entry to one of the lounges. You can also purchase entry.
