SVO lounge access
I know I won't like the answer, but I'll ask anyway:
I'm traveling coach with my two children (8 and 12) over SVO. As a "SkyTeam Elite Plus cardholder," I "may invite one guest to a lounge." I take it that means I won't be able to go in with my children. The published rules note that business class travelers and their "children under seven years of age" can "rest together in a lounge." That reinforces my impression that we're out of luck. Does anyone know otherwise? (Thanks!) |
The head guy at the Delta SVO counter one time gave me 2 passes in addition to mine since I was an STE+ and was traveling with wife, 4 kids, and 2 in laws. In your situation, explain and show your kids. Russians are pretty understanding about kids. They really are. Give it a try...and do report back what the result is!

Just to report back: At SVO, we went to the "Jazz" lounge. I had my Delta Platinum card in hand but no invitation. The lady let me and my two kids in, no questions asked. :) (Perfectly nice lounge, though I was surprised the hot water ran out three minutes into my shower.)
The flight to SVO had been from JFK. At JFK, I had seen the check-in agent filling out an invitation card; I had asked if I could take my children with me; he had stepped away to ask the head guy, come back, and written my name "+ 2 children." The card was for the KAL lounge at JFK. (The KAL lounge was perfectly OK. When we went to board, we found the gate had been changed and the flight had been delayed for over an hour. Just out of curiosity, I walked us over to the AF lounge. The lady there said Sorry, the KAL lounge handles Aeroflot. I had no objection, though I had thought ST Elite Plus gets you into any ST lounge on an int'l flight.) |
Thanks for reporting back. I've seen it go both ways for sure. Glad it went well for you.

Flying on SU out of SVO with Elite+ status on SU, flying coach, with my wife and our 2 kids (3yo and 1yo).
We were given the lounge invitation at check-in. Once at the lounge We were told only 3 of us could go in, the 4th would need to pay RUB 900...ca.30$ no buts - pretty lousy |
