Elite qualification question

I'm platinum this year due to $75K spend on the Ritz C. cc. last year during anniversary period which is about feb 15-feb 15 so already had my anniversary. I'm in progress again on the 75K spend, I also get value out of the silver status on United. Currently I have 33 nights with Marriott and another 4 nights at least booked.

After reading one mile at a time's write up on Ritz Card changes I was pleasantly surprised it's mostly positive. How I read it is that I would get credit for 15 nights for having the credit card. What I'm not sure of is when? If now or this year that would be 48 nights so my 4 I've booked put me at Platinum elite on stays. Is this what I can expect to happen? I'd probably stop putting spend on the card at this point as it would be useful in other areas.

Also as I understand it there will be increases in points earned in various categories and I've been told the date on that is August 26, is that what you all understand as well? I'm curious if that's the date in August for the programs to fully merge as well, seems random for the credit card changes to occur then. Clearly I'll wait to complete my $75K if I need to after that date, wish I'd known this before.

Lastly, as I understand it I'll be Platinum Premier since I'm currently Platinum on the date in Aug they fully merge but I would not get the 5 suite upgrade certs, correct? But, if I earn 50+ elite qualifying nights-15 from Ritz card and rest on stays, that I would get upgrade certs as a platinum member, is that correct?
