Changing Payment Method Uber
I am new to using ride share and we have done Uber twice in the last few months and will use it again to go to the airport tomorrow. It's been fantastic so far but I am having issues with payment method.
I have $175 Uber cash that shows up and they have a valid credit card on file. The last time we used them I kept getting last minute emails saying I needed to change the payment method or the ride might be canx. My Uber cash account had already been charged. In the confusion that caused one ride (to or from - can't remember) was charged to my Uber Cash account and the other from our CC. On the ride tomorrow it shows the cash balance but also shows the credit card like it's going to be charged. I Googled and they said go to the ride online, go down to where the credit card shows, click on it and select change payment method. Except nothing happens when I click on the CC.... Any hints on what I need to do to make sure they take future rides out of the cash account? I do not remember seeing anything asking me what account to use when we booked. Thank you. |
You always need a valid credit card with a ride. It will take the Uber cash FIRST, before charging any CC. If the underlying CC has issues with authorization or e.g. is expired, then your ride request will fail. Showing both is normal for rides.
