Does buying someone else a ride affect new customer bonuses?

My wife has not signed up Uber or Lyft, but might need a ride today. For simplicity I was going to order one on her behalf. But does anyone know if that (since it requires her mobile number) will add her to the Uber system and make her no longer qualify for new customer bonuses? Same question for lyft since both are in our area.
