SAN---actually in Rancho Bernardo (north county)
Stir Fresh - Mongolian-style stir fry. Very good (if you like this sort of thing)\ Chin's - Very popular, but I think over-priced and under-tasty Chinese |

Meantime, folks - don't forget you can now register your Diners card, since it is really now a branded MasterCard, and have a double dip... My primary card is my HHonors AMEX, so I get 5 + 5 miles, and 5 HHonors points per dollar, a very nice double dip. ^ |

A few gay iDine locations I recommend in LAX - West Hollywood, Sunset Plaza, N of Beverly:
iCandy--new trendy bar/restaurant with a great happy hour! Fiesta Cantina--so-so food and margaritas, but a great, young crowd...though they may be leaving at the end of August. Hugo's--Good spot for Sunday Brunch, if you can find a place to sit! |
Ord
ORD - MAZA on LIncoln Avenue in Chicago - bonus miles, 40% off with Diner's Club. Lebanese, excellent food and nice atmosphere.
ORD - Westmont - Emmy's - great breakfasts May I suggest that posters put the city in the title. |
NYC (Upper East Side):
East Side Steak and Ale is quite good. Fantastic onion rings and sweet potato fries, and their steaks and chops are good value under $20. Highly recommended. Also has a pool table, many TV's and over 20 beers on tap. You can head upstairs and there's a quieter dining room with the same menu and prices. On 1st Ave between 62/63 Becky's: Loud bar with OK food and 20+ beers on tap. Idine not good on weekends (I think). 1st Ave between 63/64 |
Boston
Panificio - on Charles Street, Beacon Hill. Excellent food in a casual setting.
Sports Grill Boston - on Canal Street, near North Station. Great place to catch a game on TV. Food is so-so, but on par with other sports bars. |
Evanston, IL
Blind Faith Cafe - a vegetarian restaurant.
|
RDU - North Carolina - Triangle - Q-Shack - BBQ/Ribs
The Q Shack Yummy, yummy barbecue. Try the Texas style beef brisket. Don't bother with the burgers - they're not their forte. Only the Raleigh locations participate in Idine. The original location in Durham has a different owner. Gift certificates purchased at the Raleigh locations aren't good at the Durham one. You can also order a smoked turkey ($30) for Thanksgiving. |
SNA: In Orange County, Ca the BlueFin a new hot spot between Laguna Beach and Newport on Pacific Coast Highway.
