ATL - Siam Square

In Smyrna, GA, actually (near Marietta). Awesome Thai food. Lots of vegetarian options. The sticky rice with mango for dessert was to die for.

Plus when I asked to take my measly leftovers to go (because it was so good), I thought the bag felt awfully heavy. Sure enough, they topped up all my leftovers with fresh food! ^:) In all my years of dining out, I have never seen that happen before, and I probably get a doggy bag 90% of the time!

Sticky Rice on Main Street. AMAZING sushi & it's half price on Monday nights after 10:30 + Friday 5:00 - 6:00.

SFO - Napa/Sonoma/Petaluma - Vino Grigio -Italian
Best new restaurant I've encountered all year! Just opened in Sept. Ate there twice on one trip, once on another. (Unlimited dining, so far) Excellent tuna carpaccio, terrific veal piccata. Good, friendly service. About $50.00 for appetizer, entree and two glasses of wine. Located in DT Petaluma.

SFO - Napa/Sonoma/Petaluma - Caffe Bella - American
Only ate there for breakfast (three times on one trip) and the food was excellent every time. About $12-$13 per person. New, clean, good service. Also serves lunch and dinner. Located in Petaluma just off the 101 and just down the street from the Sheraton Petaluma (where I was staying). Better food for less money than the hotel breakfasts.

LAX: Gingergrass

I'm fortunate to have several good restaurants within walking distance here in Silverlake/Echo Park/East Hollywood.

Top notch is: Gingergrass. Curried Coconut Cod and fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls lead an expansive menu where you can't go wrong. No reservations, but worth the wait!!!

Just had a fantastic meal (one that I didn't even know was an idine until I received the email, which is awesome when that happens) at Rasoi which is about 15 minutes north of Providence, RI, right off of I-95.

I went there with my family for their weekend buffet, and the service was extraordinary. My mom doesn't eat certain types of food in restaurants and when the manager realized that, he brought out a separate dish for her, on the house. Overall, a fantastic experience!

My wife and I went there today for the brunch buffet and it was awful. Poor selection and poor service. I appreciate the suggestion but it may have gone down hill in the 6 months since you posted this.

DCA-Arlington Pasha's Cafe-Middle Eastern

Ate there recently. We got several appetizers and two entrees and enjoyed them all. The pomegranate-walnut dip was as good as the version we had at a Syrian restaurant in Cyprus. Pasha's Cafe serves lunch and dinner but is not open for lunch on Sunday's.

They're a little hard to find - when the street numbers start getting close, look for a mini-shopping center with a 7-11. It's an easy 3-5 minute drive from downtown Rosslyn and a 10-15 minute drive from the hotels in Pentagon City.

We are back!

Hi Folks,

This thread which I have maintained for years somehow became "unstickied" - our moderator JDiver has remedied that and we are up an running again.

I will have some time next week to do some major housecleaning and updates so please post your latest finds. I will be adding a great upscale Mexican place in PHL area.

Please follow the posting format in the first thread so I can just copy and paste:

Format is Airport Code - Region of city as defined by iDine - Restaurant Name - Cuisine - (Zagat food score) (optional). Please use this format as I don't have time to edit for everyone.

YYZ - Toronto area ... Northeast of city at Leslie & Highway 7 ... Italian.

Brand new listing of this restaurant and one of the best Italian restaurants in the city, right across from a Courtyard, Residence Inn, Hilton, Sheraton, etc. Expensive -- but you don't mind paying when you get great food as well as FF miles.

What if someone using this thread is on a driving trip? Should this person know the airport codes of every nearby airport on this trip?

CaveatEmpty Aug 10, 2008 9:24 pm

Fun little place I stumbled across some weeks ago -- proved great for hitting those promo benchmarks:
6GO - MidMichigan - Bubba O'Malley's - American, Cajun, Creole, Eclectic, Hamburgers, Sandwiches, Seafood and Steaks. Decor: BikerBar chic.
:td: no transportation from the airport. Sorry.
Did I get the format right ?

Only if they want to find the info on FlyerTalk. I suppose someone might start a thread on DriverTalk categorizing everything by interstate highways.
