rewards network not posting credits

I now have 8 dines not posting at different restaurants with different credit cards. each time I fill out a missing credit form I get credit, but its getting old.

anyone else have trouble? anyone getting any response from rewards network?

In one case, it may be because of an app called "chownow" that I use to place take away orders, but in all the other cases there is no app involved.

on the last 3 missing dines, I had to resubmit screenshots of the credit card charges a 2nd time in pdf format because in word they were unable to read them

I always place take away orders with RN restaurants over the phone, and pay when I pick up, because various restaurants use various systems for online take away orders, and I don't trust any of those systems to register correctly at Rewards Network. (Some I'll use the online order website to browse the menu, but I'll still phone in the take away order.)

So I haven't had any problems related to take away specifically, but that's because my take away ("to go") dines are paid in person just as much as my
in person ("for here") dines.

As for not posting in other ways, I've had this happen the most with Amex cards. Some locations seems to have problems with Amex not getting through to RN while Visa/MC is no problem. Right now I'm going through my first 6 months on my Amex Blue for Business card where I'm getting 11x Membership Rewards points on the card (in addition to 5 miles from RN)*, so I'm unwilling to switch cards, and just put with some missing dines. But once that's over, I'll lean toward using Visa/MC more often than Amex because that seems to result in fewer missing dines for me.

* This offer is no longer available.

In the last year 3 of 14 dines had issues of not posting or posting incorrectly. One took several attempts to get it right. That's probably as many problems as I've had in the previous 5 years combined.

I've also noticed even the problem-free dines take much longer to post than in the past (1-2 weeks vs 3-5 days).

I am 0 for 3 with AMEX cards. Didn't bother to hold on to receipt as these have been restaurants I frequently visit and they post fine with MC.

Rewards Network accepts credit card statements as an alternative to receipts. So you should still be able to get those missing dines resolved that way.

Yes, I'e had more problems with Amex than anything else. Several restaurants where i"d used Amex before I got missing dines until RN apparently fixed the problem (but I was dining there often, and the missing dines took a while, so in some cases I had 2 or 3 dines before it got fixed).

But make sure first that the restaurant is supposed to give miles for Amex payments. There are few restaurants I've seen here and there that don't give miles for Amex payments, even though some of them do accept Amex.

Good point. I was burned once by that at a restaurant I frequent. Always remembered to not use AMEX with them.

Also, a reminder that restaurant's can choose to opt out of specific partners. Here in Seattle, almost everyone with a pulse has an Alaska Visa card, which is automatically linked to Rewards Network. A while back, some restaurants were opting out of Alaska as a partner so that they wouldn't be giving away miles like Halloween candy. All the other partners worked fine at these places.

Is that still the case though? I would think it should have stopped, given that Rewards Network got rid of individual mobile apps for each program and just adopted a single Rewards Network mobile app which doesn't talk about any specific programs at all, but shows which restaurants give miles on which days.

What is the RN mobile app called? I haven't been able to find it. I did find the iDine app though, which appears to be nonfunctional, and has been abandoned for years.

Restomiles = RN mobile app

The one on my Android phone is called Restomiles (short for "restaurant miles", I guess). I don't know if the iPhone one is called the same or not.

I never realized that's what it was called, so it may have been called something else when I downloaded it a couple years ago, and then may have renamed itself in an update, I'm not sure.

In the last couple of years, I don't think I have had ANY problems with dines not posting, and they generally post within 3 to 5 days.

I have had a couple of failures in the past few years, with almost all going through okay.
