Extra fees when using priceline

I used to book direct but at this point some prices I see are outrageous. That's why for the first time ever I'm considering renting a car through Priceline.
I'm busy reading the small print but not all is clear.

- I booked a car with Avis at SEA (drop-off is SEA as well).
- No insurances are mentioned, is this different from rentalcars.com where CDW is included by default?
- I got an option to add insurance for $13/day but this was full-blown insurance with $0 deductible.

I'm used to renting with Hertz where I take the standard CDW which has a deductible that is covered by my CC. If I want to do something similar for this rental will I need to add this CDW to my rental when picking up the car and will this be an extra fee I need to pay?

Are there any extra fees I should be aware of when renting with Priceline? (airport fees have been added)

Thanks

It depends on your country of residence. If you are a US resident booking in SEA then insurance is never included (at least with Priceline). If you live outside the US then it may be included. It depends on the deal. You need to review the deal. If it doesn’t say, assume insurance isn’t included.

Also note that there really isn’t the concept of a deductible or excess when renting in the US (unless you are relying on your personal auto insurance policy for coverage). It’s either full coverage or no coverage.

OK, what would be the price of the LDW (or CDW) with Avis and Budget? Priceline tries to sell me their own, I've got no idea if $13/day is reasonable or not (for a Camry or similar).
I even tried to make a simulation using budget's website but they don't show me the price for the insurance. I can add all kinds of things like child seats and navigation but not insurance. (this is budget.be)
They provide a link to this document with details about insurance but no prices (https://docs.abgcarrental.com/location/budget/BE/SEA/nl)

UPDATE: When renting on avis.com I can see the LDW is $12 with them

Never book with a 3rd party as it will just lead to extra charges.
You need to get a credit card that has insurance. Buying insurance from the rental company or website is the worst deal you will get.

I have a CC that covers the deductible but that seems to be useless in the USA. From what I understand from Autslash's reaction you either sign up for LDW and then the car will be fully covered without deductible, or you don't sign up and then you will need to pay everything yourself.

Do car rental insurances included in US CCs work differently?

In the US, most people have their own auto insurance that covers rental cars. The majority of CC coverage will be secondary to that. So the CC will cover the deductible of the renter's personal insurance. If the renter does not have insurance it then becomes primary and will pay.

If you were to attach or link to your CC's coverage we might be able to see what it would do.

$13/day sounds about right for the full LDW.
