Monthly Van Rentals in Chicago Area

How can I find cheaper monthly options for minivans and Passenger Vans? I will use a van for about a month between mid-May to mid-June. I have Costco membership. I checked autoslash and costco they gave similar prices.

Checking prices once the getting a good deal up-front is only half the equation, and we would argue that it's not even the most useful strategy.

The best way to get a great deal is to re-price the rental daily and re-book anytime a better rate comes along. AutoSlash automates this process and even does it for free. Just book the best deal you can find and then go to www.autoslash.com/track to track pricing on your rental. We'll send you an email anytime we find a better deal.

Prices can sometimes change multiple times a day, and you've got 2+ months until your pickup, so the likelihood that a better will come along is quite good. Just be sure to book a deal that is fully refundable. You definitely don't want to be locked in.
Brighton Line likes this.

Autoslash does good job, but there are two problems with your order:
1. I don't think it's easy for Autoslash to track passenger vans (as opposed to minivans)
2. I don't think Autoslash offers to be tracking prices everywhere you COULD go in your general vicinity to pick-up. Meaning they'll only take one location at a time from you; but, you, for the best month deal - might want to pick-up/return even in a different state (within a few hours from you). Thus, you're potentially within reach of hundreds different rental locations

Incorrect. Our system is agnostic to the vehicle booked. Every vehicle has an ACRISS
code. The code for a Minivan is MVAR, while the code for a Fullsize Van is FVAR. A simple task like comparing a few letters is child's play for a human or a computer. Thankfully we employee young computers instead of young children, but it's not an issue in either case.

Well, we do search up to a 25 mile radius for alternate locations that may have a better deal than the location you're currently booked at. Do we search every possible location in every state? No, that would be cumbersome, but then again, nobody has ever asked for that before. We're sure there are people who will drive 2 hours to save a few bucks, but clearly not the average customer as it has never come up in the 8 years we've been in business.

You never mentioned how much out-of-pocket your quote was, so Autoslash can't be sure whether you'd want to drive a few hours away for a cheaper alternative

When I ask for NYC quote, Autoslash frame seems to force me into one airport (not sure whether that was different prior to "Priceline"). Meaning that Autoslash gives best rate in its book at LGA, but for a rate at JFK it seems to require a separate query (not to mention EWR, or smaller regional airports). For a rate at non-airport location, it appears to require more queries. What if one wanted to capture a better than Manhattan rate? Would one need to query Bronx, NY separately; Brooklyn, NY separately, Queens, NY separately, Staten Island, NY separately, Long Island, NY separately? There are also many NJ, PA, CT locations (i.e. tri-state) cheaply reachable by bus for better rates. 25mi doesn't work out with some metropolises. Other than "1 day low-group car", person may be significantly more out-of-pocket at center-city locations - especially near holidays. I've seen $400 differential. I've seen vans "not available" at location Autoslash checking; but of course available at a location not included in search.

CostcoTravel's performance is often worse, cuz you're required to actually select "no more than 4 locations".
