Suggestions for one-month SUV rental in Cairns, Australia

Hi all,

I'm looking around for good rates for a full-size SUV for a month in Cairns, Australia. Can't find anything less than A$2000. Wondering if anyone might suggest a way to get this cheaper? I'm searching around for codes, but nothing seems to help much...

thanks,
allie

Why a full size SUV? The same large "full size" SUV as common in USA may not be available.
Have you looked at the 2nd tier rental car company's? Not Hertz, Avis, Budget etc
Google is your friend.

Thanks. Yes, looked on vroomvroomvroom, which is where i get the A$2k... Full size because I need to fit 6 people with equipment; basically, just looking for the biggest SUV (or minivan, though those tend to be pricier) i can get my hands on... They say the kia sorrento is full size, but that the Holden Captiva is standard... while both fit 7 people + 3 bags... not sure, but perhaps going with the Captiva for A$1275 is as good as the sorrento...
