I tipped a lady $40 once who went to great lengths to find me a convertible in NYC. Literally had it driven over from another location in the city. Had 30 Miles on the clock. Was absolutely brand new. The tip was after all this.

I flew from Australia back to NYC for my second road trip, I specifically went to this location, and she had held on to my preferred vehicle for me, and I tipped her $80 this time. Everything was above board and she was very grateful.
