Alamo Discount Codes

HHonors sent me this mailer and it had the following code:

Rate Code HH
ID# 307234

Plus 750 HHonors Points instead of the standard 250 (now through 3/01/04).

Supposedly 15% off standard rates. It did save me about $20 total on my last weekend Jacksonville FL trip. (Full size for 2 days $68 out the door).

TRIED IT IN FRANKFURT.."THIS CODE IS SOLD OUT" THEIR RATES WERE $150.00 ABOVE AVIS AND HERTZ..TRIED THEIR "SPECIAL" FOR EUROPE AND "SOLD OUT" BUT DISCOUNTERS ARE USING ALAMO AND NATIONAL FOR WAY LOWER RATES.

OBVIOUSLY NOT SOLD OUT.

Never rented from Alamo before, but need a car in OGG over Christmas and they are the only co avail. So, I went in cold, no membership, etc. Saw the HH offer, and the rate came up HIGHER than the regular rate for me as an "off the streets" renter. Very interesting. In all, wanted $30 extra for the HHonors points on a 7 day rental...

'TV' rate code knocked an SUV down from $285 to $235 at OGG at the end of Jan.

FWIW, your car rental rate (or code used) does not have any effect whatsoever on HH points earned, as the points are credited by Hilton, and the only requirement is to show Alamo car rental agreement or car keys at check-in at the hotel. Alamo rental must be in conjucntion with a Hilton stay.

Keep in mind that besides HH points, you can earn airline miles directly from Alamo.

Thanks CMW.

The Alamo codes worked for MIA when most companies had blacked out the period ~ Feb. 12-18.

Come on guys. There's got to be something out there. Not even a 5% off code?

My weekly rental went up $50 by adding "tv" compared to nothing.

Looks like to use an Alamo code you work off a different pricing stucture.

I would like to see something we can use in addition to the lowest rate available. That's the one think I like about Thrifty.

Try YQ. It always does wonders for me.

6T is a godsend for convertibles in Hawaii.

The aforementioned TV sometimes provides a discount over the regular rates; sometimes it does not.

the 6T code worked like a charm for me last fall (saving more than 60%), but this year, it seems to generate higher rates when I try pricing out my dates. Has the code been changed to something else?

This code is AWSOME. Just booked OGG for a Convertible 7/15-7/26/2004 for $424.45 including tax. Original quote was 533.71 w/o tax!!
