Enterprise Redemption Experience?

Has anybody redeemed points through the Enterprise Plus program? Was wondering how many points are actually required to redeem a free rental car day. I know website says starting at 400 points, but we all know that's just marketing stuff, so was wondering if anybody had some real-life experiences to share.

Thanks in advance :)

From what I can tell it is based on how much the car is renting for on the day you are searching on.

I have never seen a rental going for 400 points a day. The lowest I have seen was 500.

For ex, MCO atm is giving a economy for 1000 points a day from Oct 2-4.

I have been Platinum with enterprise with 100+ rentals a year for 2 years and maybe got 5 or 6 redemptions. From what I can tell the points are hard to come by even with the double point promo.

The locations I go to are not pushy about upgrades, upsells or insurance and cs is very good overall.

Thanks for the feedback. I knew the 400pts thing was too good to be true, haha. I just started out renting cars and will probs be doing so quite frequently in the upcoming months. I guess I'll credit to National then since they don't care about spend but rather by frequency of rental.

Check the website daily when you have dates in mind. I find the free points are adjusted at least daily and you can cancel and re-book for the lower points option if you need to. Airport locations tend to have great deals but they do have hire fees and taxes associated with them. For instance, I ended up getting a Suburban at the FLL airport for only 600 points a day. The economy car class was more points, guess people were opting for better fuel economy. I think the Enterprise system is fair you just need to shop around and be flexible.

I signed up for Enterprise's loyalty program never expecting to actually have enough points for a free rental... but then I got rid of my car so I rent from them more often now. I think my free redemption was a one day rental of a Fiat 500 for 500 points. Not bad. I would have paid the $26 or whatever if I didn't have the points, but it was a nice bonus. The program seems legit to me.

Yes, it's better than what they had before, which was nothing. Usually I can collect Amtrak Guest Rewards points AND Enterprise points for the same rental, so the Enterprise points are just gravy for me. I've redeemed once...I don't remember the rate but it was during the summer and it saved me about $75 out of pocket.

I usually get reimbursed from my employer, so I'm saving the points for the occasional leisure rental that I need. I'm "Gold" with Enterprise so my points add up slightly faster, but it's still a rather slow build-up process. But I usually rent economy cars for just a day or two at a time.
