Mine (twice) was a long life Stogel meal. For the third trip I cancelled the kosher meal request as I found it embarrassing to have ordered a kosher meal and then not to take it.

Borenstein meals on airlines other than EL AL
Borenstein catering in New York is owned by EL AL. The meals they serve in Business and First class on airlines other than EL AL are not exactly wonderful, but those on EL AL (certainly in FIrst Class - as long as it lasts) are pretty good - certainly way better than the meals they serve on other airlines.
I have been told by the head of catering of a major international carrier (for privacy reasons I shall not name the airline) that they have asked Borenstein to improve their First class kosher meals but have been told that what they currently offer is all that is possible. No possibility of improvement whatsoever.
How can this be the case, given that the same company produces far better kosher meals for EL AL? Are they deliberately limiting the quality of meals to other airlines in order to encourage more people to fly with EL AL? I find that very difficult to believe though.

Norwegian ATH-JFK in premium. Stogel long life. First meal was a "poultry schnitzel" (you get that a "poultry" is't an animal, right?) Seond was vegetable nuggets.
Abysmal.

Flying about 20-25 flights with LH Business within Europe in the upcoming three months.
Mostly ex-DUS, connecting via MUC.
Anyone knows who caters them and if it's any good?

just made 2 additions and the tray completely full of different items. Very surprised to have gotten this , 1st time and hopefully not the last , on my JFK-WAW in Biz had a great meal from Zetko, its address is 55 Dobbin St Bklyn, if I recall correctly that was Weiss address as well. Anyways a nice chunk of roast beef and a completely full tray of different items
2nd- VCE-ORD was surprised again I was expecting the food to be from Lugano but was Hermolis! a great kunch but the snack was lacking and fleshig

Air New Zealand
Flew NZ a couple of weeks ago out of Chicago. They had the Bornstein meals - still half frozen and not really edible. They said they rarely have kosher meals served, especially in J.
Out of Aukland, the food is catered by someone in Aukland - there is only parve for breakfast since they are a meat restaurant. I was also told to check that hechsher. YMMV
