Radisson Blue Bremen

Radisson Blu Bremen; used to be the Hilton Bremen:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hilto...r-hhonors.html

One night stay as Club Carlson member without status. Room with breakfast booked, no upgrade.

Check in. Pleasant and efficient. Club Carlson membership acknowledged by "we have your card in the system".

Room. A bit dated, but fine.

Location. The location is optimal for sightseeing in Bremen: the back entrance of the hotel is from the Boettchergasse.

Gym & Pool. Gym is only accessible via the pool and therefore cannot be 24h. Pool time ends at 11pm.

Bar & Restaurant. The lobby area doubles as bar and restaurant. Bar service in the evening was not terribly attentive, but OK. CC members get a discount on food and beverages.

Breakfast. Very nice selection for breakfast with many cereals, smoothies, juices, quality cheese, and the option of ordering eggs.

We were there at the same time??? I also had a recent stay (assuming you did too) and had a similar experience. I did not book a breakfast rate but got upgraded to a business class room room via gold status. Pleasant room. Great location. Nice staff.

Only issue was the cigarette smoke at the front door. It was sort of cold (not really) and the hotel smokers congregated outside of the front door smoking away. There wasn't a time that I entered/left during my 2 night stay where I wasn't walking through a haze of smoke (and I mean thick smoke and every time).

I'd stay again if I am back in Bremen. And as an aside, Bremen was a great place to visit.

Cheers -

The first and so far only time I stayed here was a couple of weeks after they rebranded, I'm gold elite, no room upgrade, no welcome gift no nothing. I mentioned this when I checked out, the mananger sent me an email apologising and said they would do better next time. Next time will ber next week so we will see if they have improved.

I'm looking to book a room in September, unsure between Superior and Premium Room.
From what I've read, upper floors are renovated so I'll as for a renovated room.
Hotel says main difference is additional size (26m2 vs 23ms) and that the premium rooms also have a chair or sofa.
Reading reviews, some people complain about premium rooms having chairs in awkward places blocking the bed.

Does anyone have recent experience?
