6 Park Inns will rebrand as Mercure - 01.09.2014
The "Kölner Event Hotelgruppe " will rebrand 6 Park Inns at: Bochum City, Köln Belfortstraße, Düsseldorf Kaarst, Kamen Unna, Hannover Oldenburger Allee and Dortmund Centrum as Mercure Hotels, starting from 01.09.2014

Never good to loose options but as long as the Park Inn FRA is not included I can live with it.

Having stayed in both Park Inns and Mercures my (subjective) opinion is that Mercure operate to a higher standard but at a similar price level, so this could be a good thing for guests at these hotels.

At a similar distance to PeterT1953's, having never stayed at these properties but having a good idea of both brands, I submit that the hotels will need to be upgraded.

I wonder what will happen with the Mecure in the city centre Dortmund. I can't imagine that they will have 2 Mercure hotels less than 500 meter from each other.
