Using my points for someone else?
 

I remember someone asking the very same question but I couldn't find it now. Is it possible to redeem points for a room under a different name (in my case my sister)?

Shouldn't be a problem.

I do advise you to do two things:
A. Include your sister's name as the second guest in the reservation.
B. Contact the property after placing the reservation and inform them that she would be checking-in and using the room.

I have done this before without problem.
As agvxvent mentions, just be sure to put her name as 2nd guest.

It's a Club Carlson points reservation.

You could transfer some or all your points to this person for them to make the reservation.

Or (maybe) you may also be able to transfer an existing reservation to the person.

But this won't work if you are wanting to book and have a Club Carlson CC and want the last night free.

The person with the card needs to book. I am wondering if I can book for my niece and get the 2nd night free if I don't show up. Also will be doing 4 nights straight so there is the extra complexity of two stays using my Pers for one and Bus for the other, and they might actually need to check out of the room to go into the other one.

I see the terms for the last night free say: "As a Club Carlson Visa card member, you qualify for one Bonus Award Night redemption during your stay! The Club Carlson member must be traveling to qualify. "
