Eggs in zip lock bag: why?

I recently stayed in Country Inns and Suites in High Point, NC. I saw boiled eggs and bread of breakfast offerings were packaged with zip lock bags. It made me wonder whether they do this for keeping these longer in the fridge.
Well, I remembered that I noticed this in few Country Inns when the occupancy was less than 20-30%. Is this new policy? I am wondering if I have to stop eating in their restaurant since I don't know how long they store these items.

Maybe to prevent the smell from going in to other food.

Could be a foodservice rule that all ready-to-eat product has to be individually packaged if accessible by the customer and not in an "approved food cabinet". They probably do it in the back (wearing gloves) right before they bring it out. I doubt that they're doing it so that they can keep the stuff around longer. Can't say for sure since food safety rules vary by state, but that would probably be the case where I live.

I am just guessing here but maybe so that it's easier for customers to grab those on the go?

practice

I was wondering since I haven't seen this in other properties either top or any comparable in US. Most breakfast buffet places offer cold boiled eggs in a container with ice and patrons use tongs. I don't know if they reuse for next day but I assumed not. This and few other Country Inns have cold eggs individually packaged in zip lock bag in some kind of cabinet, not fridge. Therefore I thought it is easier to take these to fridge and store for the next day. I may be too harsh on Country Inns.
