You don't have to wait for a voucher to use your free night. Once you have received the points for your second stay, book an award night - it will have the price of 0 points.

For quite a while, Carlson Club has had a promotion with Avis and Budget offering 5000 bonus pts on a 2 day or longer car rental.

Last month, I had a 2 day rental with Budget and a 3 day rental with Avis. I met the T&C of the bonus offer (as far as I can tell) and the usual 750 pts/rental made it to my account in a few days, but not the bonus 5000 pts.

I have sent an e-mail to CC asking about this but have not heard back; perhaps it takes longer for the bonus pts to show up.

Does anyone have experience with the 5000 bonus pt offer with rentals at Avis or Budget?

Have you heard back/has the issue been resolved? I'm about to make some reservations with Budget and will likely use the matching 5,500 goldpoint "elite" offer (BCD #U106507).

After my post, I received a letter from Budget saying the BCD #U106507 requires the rental of a vehicle group X, a speciality vehicle. So I called Budget and talked to a rep who checked and there was a number of things wrong with the U106507 BCD in their system; she forwarded the entire problem to their headquarters. This was all in June.

A few weeks ago, I received 4750 points as an adjustment to my CC acount. I called and it was from Budget, so the problem was finally resolved.

I received the 750 pts right away, and the adjustment takes me to the 5500 level. Not a bad way to get additional points, but I'd recommend follow up to make sure you get the bonus. The glitch may still exist, but I finally did get the full bonus.

Does anyone know, how much qualifying nights are credited for 4for2 promotion - 4 or 2?
Customer support told me, that only two, but on the question about my qualifying nights I got a number, which was calculated, as if it were four...
