Thanks! I am looking at the Aruba property for Jan, and for some reason, it only shows cash and points option (15k plus the rate of $370!!) and does NOT show the points ONLY rate...plenty of rooms available, it seems. Do I need to call in, to get the 50k redemption?

My understanding is that the Radisson Blu's are supposed to be their top of the line and therefore best hotels. Would anyone know how their high end product compare to the other chains (e.g. Park Hyatt, Intercontinental, St Regis)?

IME the Chicago Radisson Blu is the best as a whole bunch of us are getting 50k points for just staying at any Radisson because of that hotel.
Having been on a non-stop vacation for quite some time I find the best value is using the points where I am going. Not spending extra (money, miles or points) to get somewhere I was not going just to get the best return on a single redemption aspect.

SPG really disappoints me as a platinum to the point that I no longer have any expectations. On the other hand, I find CC and RBlu is refreshingly positive experience.
10 stays booked at RBlu German properties in next 3 weeks. 3 in SPG.
Cheers

My favourite so far is the Radisson Blu Abu Dhabi on Yas Island. Very nice hotel (probably the best breakfast spread I have ever tried) with an amazing view. Was there for four days in June, heading back in March.

A little off topic:
I was viewing the Aruba hotel as a good choice to redeem points but what I seem to notice is that it does not have full point redemption as in 50K points per night. All I see is the points + cash. Does anybody have experience with this hotel regarding the points redemption?

So far the best that I can think of are the Radisson Royal Hotel Moscow and the Radisson Blu Milano.
The Regent Zagreb is also exceptional, easily as good as the Royal Moscow, only problem is Regent aren't part of the chain anymore.

I have over 250k points with Radisson now so am looking for a decent place to go on vacation in the Americas (or an island off it). I've heard a few talk about Aruba - has anyone been? What is a garden view room like?
Any other suggestions - perhaps a good central / southern american hotel?
Thanks

As for other suggestions, IMHO the question will get lost in this thread since it's not the main topic being discussed here. Two others that come to mind that could fit the bill are Radisson St. Martin or the Radisson Grand Lucayan in Freeport Bahamas (I stayed there several years ago when it was a Westin and it was a nice hotel.)

Stayed two nights at The May Fair in London a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. When we arrived we asked for a room with two double or queen beds and she upgraded us to a Family Room, which I believe is a double upgrade. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was really nice.
Hotel had free wifi, business center, etc. The bar is supposed to be great, although we didn't go. The location is excellent, right next to Green Park with easy tube access.

Points or revenue stay?
