and from the survey - there's a new "Members Club" option being considered - looking to revamp or add to the current loyalty program.

My wife and I both received this. Agree that it's a confusing survey - but I'm in for the 3000 points!

Program sounds kind of interesting. Hopefully they up the ways to earn points. I also like the ability to choose your benefits/guarantees. Interested to find out more.

I'm not sure it is going to be for the better. Considering one of the questions was what you prefer better points or recognition. It might be a change to stop awarding points in exchange to better treatment on site.

They were extremely vague on the new proposal (which of course means that the result of the survey could interpreted in any way they want to spin it).

The program they were proposing sounds like a cross between IC's Ambassador program and Kimpton's program. I think it all depends on what benefits are eventually offered and the price they are going to charge to join it. I was, however, disturbed by a couple questions that seemed to imply moving away from points and replacing Club Carlson with this new program wholesale.

do you think guys that is better to spend all the points on Club Carlson account soon, before they act for a devaluation?

Some more details from the survey - all conceptual at this point of course, but from the series of questions, sounds like it would be potentially at the cost of earning some points.

Summary of ideas:

Membership Benefits:

We have two new membership options for our customers, not just the elite travelers. We’ve modified our old system of tiering to ensure that even infrequent travelers can have access to the benefits we offer regardless of point levels, starting with your first stay and extending to you between stays.

Base Level
Available for free, our Base Level membership gives you instant access to essential benefits, making your stay experience more enjoyable, convenient and worry-free.

Premium Level
Available for an annual fee, or earned through participation, our Premium Level memberships lets you experience the full roster of our benefits during and between stays, and gives you the ability to extend your benefits to those you are closest with.

We believe that one of our greatest assets is the expertise held by the thousands of professionals we employ around the world. As part of our Members Club, all members have access to our hospitality services including our Global Concierge Network. No matter where you are, we will connect you with a real person who will help you make the most of all your travel experiences.

Our Members are welcome in our hotels, whether you are staying with us or not. Our properties will grant premium members access to facilities such as pools and gyms during posted times, and access to unbooked meeting rooms even in your hometown.

We know that travel can be unpredictable, so we offer our members a few things they can count on. All Members have access to benefits that add convenience, predictability, and bring some of the comforts of home to your stay. When you make a reservation, see what each of our properties has to offer.

With Connections, we add value to your investment in Members Club. We will connect you with special deals and perks within our hotel restaurants, exclusive discounts at nearby restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues, and extend you special invites to attend local events hosted at our hotels.

Keeping up with best local options is no small task. Being a member also means you have a say in who we partner with, and can benefit from the contributions of those who stayed before you.

Pass the Perks:

With Premium Membership, you can share your member benefits with your closest friends and family.
Pass the Perks to:

1 - Spouses and Children
Your membership benefits will be extended to your immediate family, whether you are traveling together or not.

2 - Travel Companions
If you are traveling with friends who are not already members, up to two will enjoy all of the same benefits you do.

3 - Out-of-Town Guests staying at a local Carlson property
You can extend your member benefits to your guests staying in up to two rooms as well. Think of it as a thank you for recommending one of our hotels to your guests.

Hmmm, answered the first 3 questions then got the "Thank you" page.

Guess I didn't get the answers right .

Funny how Gleff reports this on View From the Wing as breaking news. Guess it's been on FT for a few days now, and is not drawing much attention, even from within the CC crowd. I give it a..... yawn. Award nights aren't going anywhere, especially not since Carlson crawled in bed with US Bank!
