Can you book in advance or not until you register?

Yes, you can book in advance. As per Loyalty Traveler:

"Existing reservations at a Radisson Hotel in the U.S., Canada or Caribbean before promotion registration will be eligible for the 50,000 bonus points. This is a change from the original promotion wording which stated “The Big Night Giveaway Promotion (“Promotion”) is available only to Club CarlsonSM members for new reservations.” The promotion was designed to encourage new bookings, however, I was told that the promotion bonus will apply to existing Radisson bookings as long as the Club Carlson member registers for the promotion prior to the stay, is one of the first 50,000 registrants for the 50,000 points offer, and the stay falls during the Nov 10-Dec 30, 2011 promotion period."

Does Park Inn qualify?

Would a night at Park Inn qualify or only Radisson properties?

A "Qualifying Stay" is defined as a stay of one or more consecutive nights through the Promotion Period, for which the guest specifically booked a rate for which Gold Points are awarded in accordance with the Club Carlson Program terms and conditions.

And then on the Club Carlson web page I found the following under terms:

Ineligible Room Rates and other exclusions include: employee rates, family and friend rates, airline crew rates, travel agent rates, hotel employee rates, room rates that are billed on a master bill, tour operator rates, wholesaler rates, or rates booked through online travel companies or other third parties in which you pay for that booking directly to such online travel company or third party. Complimentary rooms, including but not limited to rooms booked as Award Night stays, or stays involving other gift certificate or free night vouchers are also excluded.

I would still prefer to know in advance if the advance purchase rate is OK to use. I'm thinking that it is.

Not sure about the $$$ and points, but I'm thinking that may also be fine.
I can say with a high degree of confidence that Advance Purchase rates are eligible for the promotion.

Cash & Points I do not know for sure, but in general these are treated as award stays in most programs and I would not assume these are eligible for the Radisson promotion.

You have plenty of time to book a hotel after you are registered for the promotion in the first 50,000 members.

Register, then check with Club Carlson about Cash & Points eligibility before booking the Radisson Hotel.

The 50,000 bonus points only applies to a Radisson stay. There is a separate promotion for 15,000 bonus points for a stay at a Park Inn.

Thank you, that hampers my chances to stay in Tulsa, they only have Park Inn.

This promo might just get me away from Marriott for a night. Maybe more, depending on how it goes. So ^ for that...

As I'm a new member, does this plan seem the best to get the most value out of this deal?

Sign up using http://www.clubcarlson.com/privatePa...ode=NEXTSTAY2K for a 2000 point new member bonus
Ask for a match to Gold from my Marriott Platinum
Book a room for $119 that I need anyway, online for 2000 bonus
Earn 50000 + 2000 + 2000 + 2380 + 1190 = 57570 points for the night?

That's a motivational amount.

That definitely should work. I got CC gold from PC Plat, so you should get it from Marriott Plat.

Agreed. It was running from 2 hours downward, and then around the 1 hour mark went to 00:00:00

It's probably happening because they have to reprogram the page at midnight with the registration form and whatever else is needed on the page.
