no annonce before, just a few lines in the no/dec newsletter.Shoppings in airports and on board will no more giving miles. I think they have to announce it before! (so I suppose I don't bought for 600 CHF 4th of november- the newletter is on line only since yerterday...) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif

did they take, in november 2002, at the cashier desk, your Qualiflyer number and enter it, that way making you believe that your shooping would earn you Qualiflyermiles?

The website is not clear on this point:

"Duty-free shopping: miles for credit-card purchases only

Miles can no longer be earned on duty-free purchases on SWISS flights and at Geneva and Zurich airports. The option was withdrawn on 1.11.02.
"

According to this annonce, you should get miles for purchases if you pay with a credit card:
(miles for credit-card purchases only).

Unless the want to say that you "only" get miles on your CC and therefore no "direct miles" on top for every CHF over 50.-.

kooks.

to Rudi : yes in flight and in shop (4.11) they ask for KK and Qualiflyer card. With any comment. I just discover this on QF website.

to kooks : I read this anounce different : you get the miles related with your CC payment, and NO Qualiflyer miles related with payment (1CHF=1mile)
If you are not leaving in swiss you cant have an CC with qualiflyer miles (only amex or diners)

on october 29 I purchase for 700 CHF and i got 700 miles + rewards points from AMEX. Now I understand I'll get only points with amex and no more with qualiflyer....

I spent 250 sfr at the Zurich Airport duty free shop on November 4, I gave as well my CC and QG cards. The cashier put the QG # manually into the machine. I don't see a reason why I shouldn't get the miles for this purchase!

And, I just see that my QG number is printed on the cash receipt.

I have mailed to QF : notthing to do, no miles. I hate such situation. I think in a goog commercial relation, they have to anounce it before and NOT AFTER. So I stop to purchase anything more in these shops and on flights. (AMEX AF gives ca. 50% points more on flyshops, but no F+ miles)

Well, if the shop accepts your QF card, it has the contractual obligation to give miles. If not: breach of contract.
