New award numbers !

I could be wrong about this, but check out the promotion of lesen.ch on www.qualiflyer.com.

You can win Qualiflyer miles:

1st price 140´000 miles "which are good for a first class round-trip to North America" (until now it was 150´000)

2nd price 30´000 miles "which are good for a business class round-trip within Europe or North Africa" (until now 25´000)

Either lesen.ch and Qualiflyer completely messed up, or they already know the new award structure valid from Jan 1, 2003. To me, it looks like F-awards are coming down (were quite high in comparison anyway) and Europe C class award goes up (hopefully they still allow 8 segments).

The other possibility is that lesen.ch has just picked the next lower awards from the numbers of miles they decided to give away.

What I mean is:

Lesen.ch says "Okay guys, we're giving away 20'000 miles. What can one get with that?"
QG says "An Economy ticket in Europe."
Lesen says "Fine, we're also giving away 30'000 miles. What does that give you?"
QG says "Well 25'000 gives you a Business ticket in Europe."
Lesen says "Fine let's write that and then the winner still has 5000 miles to toy around with."

Clear now? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Very good point Hajo and huegli, indeed I have misread the original posting as saying "140'000 used to be 130'000". After having reread the posting of couse my explanation doesn't work anymore. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/redface.gif
