Travelclub questions

If this sounds dumb, please excuse, but I couldn't find the answers anywhere.

1. You become a TQ member if you have completed 40'000 miles within 12 months. Do you get status at the time you hit 40'000 ?

2. How long do you stay TQ member ? 12 months from the time you hit 40'000 ?

3. What if I requalify in less than 12 months ? Do I get another 12 months from the time of requalification or from the time my original membership expired ?

4. What's the deal with extended status due to the transition to the "new" Travelclub FF program ? any advantage in reaching status before Dec. 31, 2002 ?

1. First qualification: 40.000 club miles collected during last 12 months. Members are automatically upgraded to TCQM at the end of every month.
2. If you are qualifying this year, you are TCQM until 03/04.
3. Re-qualification: 40.000 Club miles. As from point 2: collected during calendar year 2003.
4. Earlier benefits!

Theoretically yes. However, it might take a week or so from the moment you "hit" the 40'000 until the system is updated.

I became TCQM in January 02. My membership is valid until the end of March 04.

From the time your original membership expired I'd say.

I'm unaware of any "deal", however I'd be very interested since I make it to TCGM in December. Can you please provide more information on this one?

I´m not sure, but I thought I had read something about it here on FT. But that might have been a promotion right after 9/11 to keep people flying... I guess if you don´t know about it, it doesn´t exist http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

he (Patron), really is (a gentleman) - I am still, piece by piece, slowly but surely, enjoying the Sacher tart he brought me last weekend ...

(did you Patron, in between, digest the foie gras from Illhäusern and how was the 'Strassburg foie gras party' with your Vienna friends??)

Rudi, everything was fine, except that the eyes for foie gras are too big and therefore the stomach complained ….

BTW: I am working on the trip report piece by piece, but what I know right now, thanks to your knowledge and organization, the trip was better than my report, for sure (at least I opened the brand new Michelin guide).

Rudi, let me know if you'd like some more Sachertorte, I'll be in Vienna Nov 15-17 and will happily get you some.
