Qualiflyer has a most efficient administration system
My experience is that Qualiflyer has a most efficient administration system.
I made Travelclub in November and Travelclub Gold in December. The flight that brought me the Travelclub required level of club-miles was booked in the system within 36 hours. As soon as I was registered Travelclub all my boarding passes carried TCQM in print. To receive Travelclub card and luggage tags by surface mail took less than a fortnight. The TCQM print was sufficient for gate agents and lounge staff to recognise me as Travelclub and apply the appropriate privileges. Only in one instance at BSL lounge the agent asked for my Qualiflyer card and made the observation that I should carry my Travelclub card in case I wanted to enter the lounge with an Y class boarding pass. I said thank you and entered the BSL lounge without any problem. BSL lounge by the way is most tastefully furnished and one of the nicest on the planet. Qualiflyer does not seem that efficient to me. I have flown Finnair roundtrip on 2 occasions in the past 6 months (June/July and October) and posted the miles to my Qualiflyer account. Despite that my Quliflyer number has been clearly registered and the boarding passes showing the number it has on each occassion required retroactive credit request and taken several months for the points to post. In fact I am still waiting for the October miles to post, despite sending in the request over a month ago. How efficeient is that? At least clearly inferior to Scandinavian Airlines, where I have received points within days after I filed for retroactive credit.

I do agree with kurz that regarding the handling of Qualiflyer member airline miles, Qualiflyer has one of the more efficient systems in Europe. This applies for QF awards as well, as the ticket agents appear empowered to do more (issuing, rerouting, recrediting, etc.) than at other airlines where the mileage administration is completely separate. My experiences getting awards from Qualiflyer have always been pleasant and painless.
As for partner miles, some posts have suggested Qualiflyer did not show the same celerity in crediting them... They appear to batch-process some of those (especially the 'free' miles) at the end of a given period (two months?), although others have posted very quickly for me (Hertz, Swisscom...) |
I attempted to transfer in 50k miles from Starwood. Lot of phone calls, lot of faxes.
Qualiflyer could not find the miles in 47 days(as I recall), so my wife and I now have 95k miles trapped in their program. If I can figure out how to get on LOT, perhaps I can use them. |
Yiu can use them on AA, US, AY, SR, LX, TK, CX as well as LO.
