Moving Avios points.

Hi everyone, I have a family account in BA containing both my wifes and my Avios points. I thought I could transfer them all over to QR privilege club. I've found out that I can only transfer over 'my' portion. Is there any way of transferring all of them over to QR privilege club?

Afraid not. Depending on the quantity then you can transfer to your own account and then move them for a fee (or free if you’re BA Gold). HfP had an article about this which should help

Just to add my wife and I both had enough plus in our Avios accounts so split the booking of a reward flight. Outbound in my account, return in my wife’s. With no CV to use it made sense to do it that way. YMMV

BA family pooling not a real pooling; the points are not combined, and they are shown separately in the system. when award flight is redeemed, avios is deducted proportionally from all accounts. in your case, QR has its own family pooling Family Programme | Qatar Airways

Thanks for your help folks, the reason I'm asking is that my wife was trying to transfer Avois points over to QR from her BA account and accidentally unlinked in the process. When she tried to link again she couldn't. When she contacted QR they said its not possible to link again for '50 years' . She hasn't tried since.

I find very particular the two very striking different types of families that BA and QR promote… in one both members of the couple maintain freedom on their status and avios amounts. In the other one, one member of the couple automatically receives all the avios of the family and the other one does not even receive QPoints…

Yes strange indeed. Well I think we'll try an email to see if my wife can link accounts again. The '50 year' statement seems to be off the cuff, it was a genuine mistake, and we have flown a few times in the last couple of years.
